Eddie Murphy is an American comedian, actor, writer, singer, and producer and his current net worth is $90 million.
Born in Brooklyn, New York City, he is the son of Lilian, a telephone operator and Charles Edward Murphy, a transit police officer and an amateur actor and comedian.
Growing up in the neighborhood of Bushwick, his father died and after his mother became ill, he and his brother went to live in foster care of one year.
During his time in foster care, he says he has influenced him in developing his sense of humor.
Later on, his mother and stepfather, a foreman at an ice cream plant, raised him and his brother in Roosevelt, New York.
At 15 years old he started writing and performing his own routines which included influences from Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor.
