She was raised in Horizontina and speaks Portuguese, English, Italian and Spanish, along with some French and German. In 1993 she joined a modeling course with her sisters, and a year later an agent from Elite spotted her at a shopping mall in Sao Paulo. She placed second in the Elite Look of the Year contest and moved to Sao Paulo to model.
