Miranda Kerr is an Australian model and her current net worth is $51 million.
Born in Sydney, as the daughter of Therese and John Kerr, she grew up in Gunnedah, New South Wales.
During her childhood, she has raced motorbikes and rode horses on her grandmother’s farm. Her brother, Matthew, is two years younger.
When the kids grew up, the family moved to Brisbane, to let them experience city life. She graduated from All Hallows’ School in 2000.
Before choosing a career as a model, she studied nutrition and health psychology.
She entered and won the 1997 annual Dolly Magazine/Impulse model competition, at 13 years old.
A week before her 14th birthday she flew to Sydney to shoot for the magazine.
Later she signed to Chic Management’s Sydney Division and received considerable commercial exposure after a photo shoot of beachwear ads.
Thanks to the photo shoot, her popularity rose in the Australian and Asia markets. Upon the success she received, she moved to New York where she became co-owner of the Bowery Ballroom.
While in New York she walked for many brands, singing later with NEXT Model Management in early 2004.
From there, brands like Alex Perry, Baby Phat, Lisa Ho, Voodoo Dolls, Levi’s, Bettina Liano, Nicola Finetti, L.A.M.B., Heatherette, booked her for runway and print campaigns.
She also covered several magazines such as Elle, Australian Vogue and Harper’s Bazar.
In 2006 she appeared on the TV show Project Runway, where she modeled clothes for contestant Daniel Vosovic’s final collection.
Later she signed a contract with brand Maybelline New York.
After the success with Maybelline, she became the first Australian model to receive a contract with Victoria’s Secret in 2007, replacing Gisele Bündchen.
From there it is all history, because she became one of the highest paid models in the world.
Forbes ranked her No.10 on the 2016 list of the highest paid models, earning an estimated $6 million.
In 2017, she married billionaire Snapchat co-founder/CEO Evan Spiegel.
