How much is Jenson Button Worth? Jenson Button Net Worth in 2026
Jenson Button’s net worth is estimated at $150 million as of November 2026. The best money decision of his career looked like the worst at the time: in 2009 he took an $11 million pay cut to keep a seat at Brawn, won the world title, and then collected about $81 million over seven years at McLaren. He retired from professional racing in November 2025 and now earns from television and team ambassador work.

How much is Jenson Button worth in 2026?
We estimate about $150 million, in a range of $100 million to $180 million. Reported salaries cover about half of his 18 F1 seasons, and we fill the rest with labelled assumptions. Converted figures use £1 = $1.34, the rate on November 3, 2026.
Public estimates disagree for two plain reasons. His pay was reported in pounds and dollars by different outlets, sometimes for the same year, with one 2015 report at £15 million and another at $12.5 million. Tax is the other swing: he gave Monte Carlo as his residence in a UK company filing covering 2013 to 2016, so our tax row is far lighter than the one we would use for a driver living in Britain.
How Jenson Button built it
- Took a pay cut to race. He gave up about $11 million in 2009 to stay on the grid at Brawn, then won the title.
- Moved on after his last race. He ended his racing career in 2025 and joined Aston Martin as an ambassador ahead of 2026.
- Backed a coachbuilder revival. He helped relaunch Radford in 2021 with Ant Anstead, Mark Stubbs and Roger Behle.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Early F1 pay, 2000 to 2005 | $24 million | We assume $4 million a year for six seasons at Williams, Benetton, Renault and BAR. No contract figures were opened for these years. |
| Honda years, 2006 to 2008 | $53 million | $17.6 million a year for three seasons. That is the $6.6 million 2009 salary plus the $11 million cut, applied to all three years as an assumption. |
| Brawn, 2009 | $6 million | Reports range from $5 million to $6.6 million. |
| McLaren, 2010 to 2016 | $81 million | £18 million for 2010 to 2012 (three years at a reported £6 million), or $24 million; $13 million in 2013; $12.5 million in 2015; almost $19 million in 2016. We assume $12.5 million for 2014. |
| Endorsements | $18 million | Assumed at $1 million a year over 18 seasons. Named sponsors include Hugo Boss, Tag Heuer and Vodafone, with no amounts published. |
| Post-F1 income, 2018 to 2026 | $14 million | About $1.5 million a year for nine years, assumed, from Sky Sports, Williams, Aston Martin and racing. |
| Tax and fees | minus $39 million | Assumed at 20 percent of the $196 million above, given the Monaco residence and later years in the US. |
| Spending | minus $63 million | Assumed at $3 million for each of the 21 years since the Honda pay began. |
| Growth on savings | $56 million | Assumed at 60 percent on the remaining $94 million, or 6 percent a year for eight years, because much of it was earned before 2017. |
| Total | $150 million | Rough. Radford, the whiskey brand and other stakes are valued at zero because no price is public. |
The $11 million bet that paid back seven times
His 2009 deal with Brawn came with a much smaller salary. The BBC, as Bleacher Report relayed, called it a fall from £10 million to £3 million. RNZ put it at an $11 million cut to $6.6 million, and another 2009 list had him on just $5 million for the title year. The currencies differ, but every version has him losing most of his pay.
McLaren then signed him on a reported three-year deal at £6 million a season. By our calculation, the McLaren contracts that the title made possible brought $81 million over the next seven seasons, 7.4 times the $11 million he gave up. His McLaren average was about $11.6 million a year ($81 million divided by seven), and the best year is the one reported in August 2015: a $12.5 million retainer that would rise to almost $19 million for 2016 if McLaren took up its option. It did, and that 50 percent rise is in the record.
The money that went elsewhere
One contract exit carried a huge price. In 2005 Williams released him for an estimated £18 million in compensation. The reporting we opened doesn’t say who paid it, so we have left it out of his ledger. If he paid even half, this estimate falls by about $12 million before growth.
Property gives no clear gain either. In 2019 he bought an unfinished Bel Air house for a reported $8.7 million and listed it in August 2020 at $10.5 million. We couldn’t confirm the final sale price on any page we opened, so we add no gain.
After the last race
He said on October 30, 2025 that the 8 Hours of Bahrain would be his final professional race, citing his young children. Ahead of 2026 he joined Aston Martin as an ambassador on a multi-year deal, on top of the Sky Sports work he has done since 2018. Radford, the coachbuilder he helped relaunch in 2021, and Coachbilt Whiskey, which he co-founded, are the wild cards.
What would move the figure: a price on Radford or the whiskey brand, or a published Aston Martin fee. None has appeared yet, so they sit at zero here.
