How much is Jonathan Scott worth in 2026?

We put him at $52 million, in a range of $30 million to $100 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. No contract, royalty rate or ownership split has been published, so we assume he and his twin Drew own the company equally and share income the same way, which gives both brothers the same ledger.

Public estimates tend to run higher. The usual reason is that they treat retail sales, or a company’s revenue, as money the brothers took home.

How Jonathan Scott built it

  • Started with $250 down. A $250 down payment bought into a first property that later returned $50,000.
  • Bought the show's title. In 2019 the brothers acquired the Property Brothers brand and IP from Cineflix Media.
  • Built solo projects too. He directed a 2020 PBS documentary and filmed a talk show pilot in June 2026.

How we got to $52 million

Source Our estimate What it rests on
His half of licensing royalties $39 million A 2022 report credited the brothers with over $2 billion in retail sales. Assumption: a 3 percent royalty is $60 million, plus $18 million for 2023 to 2026 on $150 million a year of retail sales. That’s $78 million, split in two.
Television pay and production $22.5 million Pay per episode isn’t public. Assumption: $1.5 million a year to Jonathan for 15 years, since 2011.
His half of Scott Brothers Global $20 million Assumption: $10 million a year in profit at a multiple of 4, or $40 million, split in two. This is a buyer’s price for future income, separate from the cash above. The company was incorporated in 2017.
Homes and property $10 million Assumption, the same allowance we give Drew. He and Zooey Deschanel closed on a Los Angeles home in June 2020, but the reports we could open give no price, and it’s shared.
Talk show and new book $0 added The talk show pilot hasn’t been picked up and the book isn’t out. No terms are public for either.
Tax minus $24.6 million Assumption: 40 percent of the $61.5 million in cash income from the first two rows.
Living costs minus $15 million Assumption: $1 million a year for 15 years.
Total $51.9 million The rows sum to $51.9 million, which we round to $52 million. Nearly all of it rests on stated assumptions.

About $94,500 a house

His company’s own bio says he has renovated more than 550 homes. Here is our calculation: $52 million divided by 550 is about $94,500 for every house. That flatters the demolition. Television and licensing built the fortune, and renovations were the raw material for both.

Try it per episode. A December 2022 report counted 13 active series and quoted him on 48 new episodes a year. If our $1.5 million television assumption were spread across all 48, that’s $31,250 an episode, a modest number for someone whose company claims about 80 million US viewers a year. The bigger number sits in the stores: a 3 percent royalty on $2 billion, cut in half and taxed at 40 percent, leaves him $18 million.

The title came with strings

In 2019 Scott Brothers Global acquired the Property Brothers brand and IP from Cineflix Media. Price undisclosed. Cineflix Rights kept worldwide distribution outside the US and English-language Canada, along with a financial stake in future productions and a share of ancillary brand revenue. So part of the show’s international money and brand revenue goes elsewhere, one reason we resist bigger guesses for his company stake.

The first deals were tiny by comparison. A $250 down payment got the twins into their first property, which brought in $800 a month from sublet rooms and a $50,000 profit when sold a year later.

The work he does without Drew

The solo projects are where 2026 gets interesting. On June 29, he said filming was finished on the pilot of Better! With Jonathan Scott, a daytime talk show in development at CBS Media Ventures, not yet picked up for fall 2027. On August 14, he announced The Ultimate Renovation Planner and Organizer, with a post pointing to January 26, 2027. Before these, he directed Jonathan Scott’s Power Trip, which aired on PBS in November 2020 and grew out of powering his Las Vegas home with solar in 2015.

The shared television work continues too. Property Brothers: Under Pressure was slated for 14 episodes in 2026, produced by their own Scott Brothers Entertainment.

A talk show pickup would matter most. By our math, adding 10 percent to his figure takes $5.2 million after tax, or about $8.7 million before tax at 40 percent. A sale of Scott Brothers Global would matter more, since our $20 million is a guess at what a buyer would pay, and the three-year HGTV deal announced in September 2022 should have run out, so new terms could change the television row.
