Megan Rapinoe’s net worth is estimated at $13 million as of November 2026. In the 12 months before the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Forbes Australia reported she earned about $7 million before tax and agents’ fees, and only $0.7 million of that came from soccer. Nine dollars in ten came from brand work and other deals rather than from the sport that made her famous, and that split is the reason our number sits well above most public ones.

How much is Megan Rapinoe worth in 2026?

Our figure is $13 million, in a range of $8 million to $20 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. We have one good reading of a single year and a few contract details, so every other year in our model is an assumption, and we say which.

Public estimates cluster around $4 million to $5 million. Those numbers don’t sit easily beside one pre-tax year of about $7 million, and we suspect they weigh her salary and tournament pay and underweight endorsements. Ours could overshoot too, because we assume her brand income held up for years around that peak.

How Megan Rapinoe built it

  • Earned most away from the field. About $6.3 million of her $7 million in the year to July 2023 came from off-field work.
  • Took stakes in young companies. She invested in STATSports in 2021 and Happy Viking in 2022.
  • Built shows after retiring. She moved from A Touch More to a new interview podcast with Vox Media in 2026.

How we got to $13 million

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Endorsements and other off-field income $27 million Forbes Australia gave $6.3 million for the year to July 2023. Assumption for the rest: $0.3 million a year for 2013 to 2018 ($1.8 million), half that peak for 2019 to 2022 ($12.6 million), the peak once ($6.3 million), and one third of it for 2024 to 2026 ($6.3 million).
Soccer pay $5.5 million The same list gave $0.7 million on the field. Assumption: that rate for 2019 to 2023 ($3.5 million), plus $200,000 a year for 2009 to 2018 ($2 million).
Share of the 2022 back pay $0.44 million CBS Sports reported $22 million to be split among players. Her share isn’t public. Assumption: 2 percent.
Agents Minus $4.05 million Assumption: 15 percent of off-field income. The Forbes figures don’t deduct agents’ fees.
Income tax Minus $11.56 million Assumption: 40 percent of the $28.89 million left. The Forbes figures don’t deduct tax either.
Living costs Minus $5.6 million Assumption: $400,000 a year for 14 years. Her homes sit inside this and the savings.
Returns on savings $1.41 million Assumption. The rows above leave $11.73 million. Half of it, at 4 percent simple for six years. We use a low rate because some of it may be in private startups.
Total $13 million The rows sum to $13.14 million, which we round.

One year, 31 percent of everything she kept

Our calculation for that peak year: $7 million, less 15 percent agent fees on the $6.3 million off the field ($945,000), is $6.06 million. Take off 40 percent tax and $3.63 million is left. That one year equals 31 percent of the $11.73 million we think she saved across her whole career, before returns. Over the same career, off-field money is 82 percent of our $32.94 million gross and soccer pay about 17 percent.

Reports differ on that year. A 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit piece put 2023 endorsements at about $7.5 million and her final OL Reign salary at about $700,000, for $8.2 million. We use the lower reading, and we don’t stack the two.

$14,000 a month in Lyon

Early pay is the part that makes the later numbers look strange. Her 2013 Lyon contract was reportedly €11,000 a month, about $14,000. Two years earlier, magicJack reportedly paid $100,000 in cash considerations to get her at a time when the average WPS salary was $25,000. Across 2009 to 2018, we give her $200,000 a year on the field, which is generous for some of those seasons and low for others.

The brand list grew fast after 2019: Procter & Gamble, BodyArmor, Hulu, LUNA Bar and Visa that year, Loewe in 2020, Victoria’s Secret and Subway in 2021, Google Pixel in 2023. A SponsorUnited report cited by Forbes found she had the most branded social posts of any women’s soccer player. Her memoir, One Life, was a best seller optioned by Sony Pictures Television, and those terms aren’t public, so it stays inside the off-field row.

Stakes with no public price

Boardroom listed her as an investor in STATSports in 2021 and Happy Viking, the plant-based company founded by Venus Williams, in 2022, and as a co-founder of re-inc and A Touch More. No amount is given for any of them. We add no markup, because a startup stake can just as easily be worth nothing, and a win on any of these would push her toward the top of our range.

A year of changing shows

Awful Announcing reported on April 17, 2026 that A Touch More, her Vox Media show with Sue Bird, would wind down during the year. Just Women’s Sports reported her new interview podcast with Vox, Why Are You Like This?, premiering on August 6. Then TheWrap reported on September 11, 2026 that HBO had taken North American rights to the documentary Rapinoe after its Toronto premiere, with no price disclosed.

She no longer draws a salary, so what moves this figure is whether sponsors stay now she has been retired three years. We assume $2.1 million a year. If that is really $1 million, she has about $3.3 million less gross over those three years, or roughly $1.7 million less after agents and tax. A share of any sale of the Vox podcast network isn’t something we can assume, since nothing we read says she holds one.
