How much is Mike Holmes Worth? Mike Holmes Net Worth in 2026
Mike Holmes’s net worth is estimated at $12 million as of November 2026. The contractor behind Holmes on Homes started his first company at 19 with a crew of 13, and then found a far better business than renovating houses: being trusted on television while other people renovated them. His name on inspections, builders, workwear and products is the asset, and because he owns his whole group, no filing tells us what it earns.

- Kept full ownership of the group. His own site says he entirely owns The Holmes Group and its inspection and workwear lines.

We put him at $12 million, in a range of $6 million to $25 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. No contract, library price or company accounts are public. What is documented is the scale, a large TV library and a holding company he owns outright, so the ledger prices those with labelled guesses. Canadian dollars are converted at about US$0.7156, our calculation from the European Central Bank’s November 2, 2026 rates of $1.1216 and C$1.5673 per euro.
How we got to $12 million
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Host and producer pay | $3.2 million | Assumption: C$40,000 an hour across 200 hours, or C$8 million, less 45 percent tax leaves C$4.4 million. No pay figure is public. |
| TV library sale | $3.2 million | Blue Ant’s 2022 deal gave it ownership of the library at an undisclosed price. We assume C$30,000 an hour, or C$6 million, less 25 percent tax leaves C$4.5 million. This is rights money, separate from pay for making the shows. |
| The Holmes Group | $5.7 million | Assumption: C$2 million a year in profit at 4 times earnings, C$8 million. His site says he owns it entirely, so all of it is credited to him. Profit is our guess. |
| Books and speaking | $0.6 million | Assumption: C$100,000 a year for 15 years, less 45 percent tax. Five books are on record, with sales and fees unknown. |
| Living costs from these earnings | minus $0.9 million | Assumption: C$60,000 a year for 20 years, C$1.2 million. |
| Total | About $12 million | The rows sum to $11.8 million, rounded to two figures. |
200 hours, and what a nine-figure number would need
A nine-figure fortune would take far more than we can see. In a September 2022 deal, Blue Ant Media agreed to acquire more than 200 hours of his unscripted series and specials, including every season of Holmes on Homes, for its free streaming channel Homeful. No price was published.
Our calculation: $100 million spread across 200 hours would mean he kept $500,000 from every hour of television. Our $12 million works out at $60,000 an hour, spread across everything he does. Cut it another way, and his own site’s count of more than 220 TV renovation projects means about $54,500 of net worth per project. Plausible for a star who owns his production company, and a long way from $500,000.
Owning the whole thing, and what that hides
His company page lists HOLMES Approved Homes, MIKE HOLMES Inspections, HOLMES Workwear and Make It Right Releasing, all under The Holmes Group, which he owns entirely. A 2019 Bell Media release adds Make It Right Productions and HOLMES Approved Products. His reference biography adds Mike Holmes Protection, a home services contract line launched in 2021.
That list is the reason the group is our largest row, and also the weakest one. A licensing business can be very profitable with few employees, or barely pay its bills. We picked C$2 million a year in profit as a middle guess and a low multiple of 4, because a brand tied to one 63-year-old’s face is hard to sell without him.
Still working the family into the deal
He has built the next phase around his children, Michael and Sherry, both contractors. In September 2025, Toronto’s Alibi Entertainment and The Holmes Group announced a partnership to develop unscripted content featuring the family, with no financial terms given. Meanwhile the six-part Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy began on Cottage Life in November 2024, and its second season ran into 2026, with an episode listed for June 1, 2026.
Why other estimates disagree
Most public estimates give no working, and they range widely. A likely cause is treating production budgets as personal pay.
What would move the figure
A sale of The Holmes Group, or a real look at its profit, would change this more than anything else. So would the first projects from the Alibi partnership. Details were promised in the months after September 2025, and we found no announcement of them. Currency also matters a little: most of his business looks Canadian, so a weaker loonie trims the US dollar figure.
