Nelly is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, investor, and occasional actor and his current net worth is $65 million.
Born in Austin, Texas, Nelly grew up in University City, Missouri with his mother after his parents divorced.
While he attended high school, Nelly started a hip hop group called St. Lunatics. The group enjoyed local popularity after the release of their single, Gimme What Ya Got.
After a major label failed to come into the picture, he decided to go solo.

Back then, to be a rapper from the Midwest had an unusual aspect. Right when the hip-hop scenes happened around the East Coast, West Coast and the South.

Kevin Law and Country from Fo’Reel Entertainment decided to first do a solo song with Nelly before returning to St. Lunatics.
Nelly released his debut album Country Grammar in 2000. The album included singles like E.I, Ride wit Me, and Batter Up.
RIAA certified the album with 9 times platinum in 2004.

Other singles included the one with over 7,6 million records sold worldwide, Dilemma featuring Kelly Rowland, as well as Work It featuring Justin Timberlake.
As of 2015, Nelly is the star of his own TV show called Nellyville, which premiered in 2014.
The series, about Nelly’s music and acting career and about raising his four children, airs on BET.
Apart from his music career Nelly is also an actor. His biggest role came in 2005 with the remake of The Longest Yard, starring Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.
Nelly owns Apple Bottoms, a female clothing line, and Vokal, which caters to men.
He also likes to gamble, and has appeared at The PokerStars European Poker Tour and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
