Fernandez then introduced him to Lil Jon in hopes that Lil Jon would feature Pitbull on his upcoming album.

Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz featured Pitbull on their album Kings of Crunk, after they met in Miami.

He released his solo debut studio album, M.I.A.M.I, which had the lead single Culo, produced by Lil Jon and the Diaz Brothers.
