How much is Tilman Fertitta worth in 2026?

One asset does more than half the work. The Rockets, which Fertitta owns outright, account for roughly 61 percent of our figure, and nothing else he owns comes close. This one is a rough estimate in places: Fertitta Entertainment is private and publishes no accounts, so some rows below are assumptions and are marked as such.

Public estimates differ mainly because they use different team valuations and treat company debt differently. The newest event is the Caesars deal: Pollstar reported on May 28, 2026 that Fertitta Entertainment will pay about $5.7 billion in equity and take on close to $12 billion of Caesars debt. Hotel Dive reported in September that Caesars shareholders voted for it, with antitrust clearance and approvals in each gaming state still needed. The deal adds assets and debt together, so how it is financed is the thing most likely to move the figure.

How Tilman Fertitta built it

  • Kept buying companies. Fertitta Entertainment made 25 acquisitions, six of them public companies, worth over $3 billion in total.
  • Paid a record price for the Rockets. He paid $2.2 billion in 2017, a record for an NBA team at the time.
  • Went after Caesars. In May 2026 he agreed to a roughly $17.6 billion deal including debt, and shareholders approved it in September.

How we got to $9.5 billion

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Houston Rockets about $5.8 billion Bought for $2.2 billion in 2017 (ESPN). A single 2026 team valuation of $6.6 billion is reported (Courtside Owners), and we shave about 12 percent for debt on the team, which is an assumption.
Fertitta Entertainment (Landry’s, Golden Nugget) about $3.0 billion A February 2021 plan to list the company through a SPAC valued the combined business at $6.6 billion, with Fertitta Entertainment keeping 60 percent (Front Office Sports), which is $4.0 billion. The deal was reworked to $8.6 billion in June 2021 and the two sides ended it in December 2021. That value includes the online casino since sold, and we do not know if it counts debt, so we take about three-quarters of the $4.0 billion as an assumption.
Wynn Resorts shares about $1.2 billion He held 12.7 percent of Wynn as of July 2026, according to Courtside Owners. An earlier filing showed 10.9 million shares as a bit over 10 percent, worth more than $1 billion at $92.13 a share. We assume a similar share price now, so 12.7 percent is about $1.2 billion.
DraftKings shares about $0.5 billion Received when he sold Golden Nugget Online Gaming to DraftKings in a $1.6 billion all-stock deal. How many shares he kept is not clear to us, so this is an allowance.
Connecticut Sun about $0.3 billion Reported purchase price of the WNBA team, which is moving to Houston in 2027.
Debt and other claims minus $1.3 billion An assumed deduction for borrowing against his holdings and tax on any sales. Not a figure from a filing. We do not deduct the $5.7 billion Caesars equity cheque, because the deal has not closed and the company it buys would be an asset of comparable value.
Total $9.5 billion $10.8 billion of assets, less $1.3 billion.

Our calculation: the Rockets are worth about $5.8 billion in our table against the $2.2 billion he paid in 2017, a gain of $3.6 billion or about 2.6 times (5.8 divided by 2.2). That gain alone equals 38 percent of our $9.5 billion figure ($3.6 billion divided by $9.5 billion), and the whole team is 61 percent of it ($5.8 billion divided by $9.5 billion). Without the sports franchise, the restaurant and casino business that made him known is a minority of his wealth.

The Caesars bet

In March 2026 the Las Vegas Sun reported that the owner of Golden Nugget was in talks to buy out Caesars. The agreed offer was $31 a share in cash, a 49 percent premium to the price before talks began, Pollstar reported. With debt the deal is about three times the $5.7 billion equity price, and we assume that debt sits with the company, not on his personal balance sheet, so we do not subtract it from the $9.5 billion.

A fortune that is mostly a team and a share price

Fertitta Entertainment has made 25 acquisitions, six of them public companies, worth over $3 billion in total, Front Office Sports reported in 2021. That history explains the structure: he owns a restaurant and casino company, a basketball team, a 12.7 percent stake in a listed resort company and shares in a sports betting firm. Two of those can be priced from a screen and one from a franchise valuation. The restaurant and casino company is the one we have to guess.
