How much is Travis Kalanick Worth? Travis Kalanick Net Worth in 2026
Travis Kalanick’s net worth is estimated at about $6.7 billion as of November 2026, and it is a rough estimate. His first exit, the $19 million sale of Red Swoosh in 2007, left him about $2 million after tax. Twelve years later he sold more than $2.5 billion of Uber stock in about six weeks, and at today’s price those same shares would be worth about $5.8 billion. Most of our figure now rests on a robotics company whose valuation nobody has disclosed.

How much is Travis Kalanick worth in 2026?
We estimate Travis Kalanick is worth about $6.7 billion, within a range of $5.7 billion to $11 billion. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented on the Atoms side. The Uber sales are on record. His stake in Atoms and its current value are not, so that row is our assumption.
Public estimates disagree because they treat Atoms differently. Some carry a mark from around 2022 at full value, some mark it down, and few say what they assume he owns. Some also treat Uber proceeds as if no tax were paid on them.
How Travis Kalanick built it
- Sold in big blocks. He sold more than $2.5 billion of Uber stock in the weeks after the 2019 lockup ended.
- Put winnings into the next bet. He paid $150 million in 2018 for control of the company now called Atoms.
- Started over after a small exit. Red Swoosh sold for about $19 million in 2007 and left him about $2 million after tax.

| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Uber share sales | $4.15 billion | $1.4 billion to the SoftBank group in January 2018, a source told CNBC, more than $2.5 billion from November 6 to December 18, 2019, plus the 8.2 million shares he still held then, worth about $250 million. |
| Tax on Uber sales | Minus $1.54 billion | Our assumption: 37.1 percent, made of 23.8 percent federal capital gains tax and 13.3 percent for California, on a near-zero cost for founder shares. |
| Paid into City Storage Systems | Minus $450 million | $150 million in March 2018, plus $200 million and then another $100 million in January 2019 that one funding database says he put in personally. The figures may overlap, and this money is counted in the row below. |
| Atoms stake | $4.58 billion | Our assumption: 43.6 percent of a company worth $10.5 billion. The workings are in the next section. |
| Total | $6.74 billion, which we round to $6.7 billion | $4.15 billion less $1.54 billion and $0.45 billion, plus $4.58 billion. We deduct no spending, and we found no record of other large holdings. |
Pricing a company with no price
Atoms was announced on March 13, 2026, and it absorbed CloudKitchens. TechCrunch reported a $1.7 billion round on July 22, 2026, led by Andreessen Horowitz with Bain Capital, Fifth Wall and Uber itself. The company has not disclosed a valuation, and his ownership has never been reported. Here is how we got to a number anyway.
The last public mark is $15 billion, from an $850 million round the San Francisco Standard dates to 2022. We start there and take 30 percent off, because that mark is around five years old and came from the food delivery boom. That gives $10.5 billion. For dilution, our calculation runs like this: $400 million at about $5 billion in 2019 sold 8 percent, $850 million at $15 billion sold 5.67 percent, and $1.7 billion inside our $10.5 billion value sold 16.19 percent. Multiply what remained (0.92 times 0.9433 times 0.8381) and the holders from before those rounds keep about 72.7 percent. His fund bought a controlling interest in 2018, so we assume he holds 60 percent of that, or 43.6 percent.
The range shows how soft that is. At $10 billion and a 35 percent stake, he is worth about $5.7 billion in total. At $15 billion and 60 percent, about $11.2 billion.
The 2019 sale, seven years on
City AM reported that the first batch of more than 20 million shares, about $547 million, was nearly 21 percent of his stake. That implies about 95 million shares. He had 8.2 million left when the selling stopped, so about 87 million went for that $2.5 billion, or about $29 each.
Uber closed at $66.71 on November 2, 2026. By our math those 87 million shares would fetch about $5.8 billion now, or $3.3 billion more than he took. Then again, the money paid for a robotics company that now has Uber as a shareholder, and if his stake is anywhere near our guess, $450 million has turned into about 10 times that on paper. He called the round “unfinished business”.
What would move it
Any disclosed Atoms valuation changes this page more than anything else, and each $1 billion of value moves his stake by about $436 million on our assumption. A secondary share price exists, but no share count goes with it, so it can’t be turned into a value. We also don’t know whether he kept the last 8.2 million Uber shares. If he did, they’re worth about $547 million today instead of the $250 million in our ledger.
Tax matters as well. The San Francisco Standard reported he said he moved to Texas on December 18, 2025, so a future sale of Atoms shares may not face the California rate we applied to his Uber sales.
