Ranked by their City Prosperity Index, these cities have features that make them different than other cities around the world. Comparing prices of everyday goods in order to give more sense, we managed to made a top 10 list.

And the CPI that assesses up to 5 factors (productivity, quality of life, infrastructure development, equity and social inclusion, and environmental sustainability) made our job easier.

We begin our top 10 list with the capital of Japan, the center of the Greater Tokyo Area, as well as the most populous metropolitan area in the world.

Home to 13.185.502 people, Tokyo is the financial centre of Japan, as many of the country’s global corporations are based in the capital city. And Sony and Toshiba are included.

You all know that Tokyo is important for the technological advancement, and not only because it promotes the use of the latest technology, but because is spends billions of dollars annually in research which takes place in the highly advance universities and reseach centers.

Yes, this is the most expensive place to live, where a cup of coffee can cost you $8 and an imported beer in a bar $10.
However, the city is also one of the best places to live, that is if you can handle the cost and you like agglomerations.
