Cruising through the ocean means you have to be ready to face the weather. These days, it is highly unpredictable. Just take a look at how Roland Garros and Wimbledon suffered from hard rain even though it is summer.
When you are cruising on water, it will only get worse. And even if you decide to dock your yacht during those rainy days or winter, you still have a lot on your plate.
Even on berth, winter can damage your boat. That is why many boat owners get into winterizing mode in order to prepare the boat to face the cold and windy weather. Then when winter has passed, de-winterizing is another challenge.
The process includes hauling, dry-docking, shrink-wrapping, and blocking. And those will cost you a lot.
