2. It is not a form of investment
We have discussed how it can be difficult to sell your private jet once you don’t want it anymore. And its value is most likely to drop from its purchase. Then, you should know by now that a jet plane is not an asset. And buying it is not a form of investment.
You probably read somewhere about this kind of investment. But don’t get it wrong. Investment in aviation is where you buy old planes and restore them into more valuable assets. Then, you can either resell them, make them collectible, or fly them yourself commercially.
That is investment.
But buying a luxury private jet to fly around with, then selling it once you get bored or finally realize that you don’t need it, is not investment. You will definitely lose money. Even if you get to sell it for higher price than when you bought it, that won’t cover all the expenses you spent on operation and maintenance.
With $10 million in your hand, it is better for you to invest in other things like real estate. The price of land keeps rising. With just a little bit of patience, you will end up a lot richer.
