The American politician served as the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963.

When he was president, several important events occurred. Such as the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Space Race (The project Apollo), the building of the Berlin Wall, the African-American Civil Rights Movement, and the increased U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.

In the 1960 U.S. Presidential Election, Kennedy defeated Vice President and Republican candidate Richard Nixon.

He was 43 when he was elected president, and became the youngest man to have been elected to the office as well as the second-youngest president.

He was the first person born in the 20th century to serve as President.

To date, Kennedy has been the only Roman Catholic president and the only president to have won a Pulitzer Prize.

Kennedy’s father, Joseph was worth $1 billion from liquor importation which he inherited. Some real estate adds to his net worth.
