6. Mercedes-Benz (Estimated Value: $26 billion)
Since ninety years ago, Mercedes-Benz has been manufacturing some of the world’s most expensive sports cars, trucks, buses, and SUVs. And oh boy, how I wish I could afford the new Mercedes-Bens X-Class!
So, when the company announced Mercedes-AMG’s debut as Formula 1 team, I was stoked. However, it took them years before they could even be the top contender of the constructor’s championship. But hard work is finally paid off when the team won the title, not just once, but three years in a row.
Mercedes-Benz started as Benz & Cie. and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft in the 1890s. About a thousand employees work for this division of Daimler AG. Together, they build luxury vehicles and generate more than $100 billion of sales revenue.
Forbes estimated its brand value around $26 billion. That puts Mercedes-Benz as the world’s 20th most valuable brand. This is supported by the fact that nearly two billion units of Mercedes-Benz cars have been sold. And that is a world record.
