Georgina Hope “Gina” Rinehart, born on 9 February 1954, is the Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting group. She is the daughter of Lang Hancock and Hope Margaret Nicholas.
In March 1992, after her father died, Gina Rinehart inherited the Hancock Prospecting Company and all the Hancock Prospecting Pty Limited Group of companies.
Hancock Prospecting, is an Australian extraction and mineral exploration company with rights on one of the largest land lease in Western Australia, Pilbara region.
Hancock Prospecting is now adding oil and gas extraction to its mining portofolio.
Gina Rinehart, the CEO of Hancock Prospecting and the so-called queen of global iron-ore trade finalized her biggest deal in March 2013. With $ 7,2 billion in funding from a group of global banks she develop Roy Hill, one of the world’s largest iron-ore mines.
