What is Malliouhana?
Malliouhana takes its name from the Arawak word for Anguilla. The resort sits on a bluff overlooking the Caribbean and Meads Bay. It was relaunched in 2014 as Malliouhana, An Auberge Resort, after a long closure and a reported multi-million dollar renovation. Our earlier copy said 80 million dollars, which we could not verify.

Who runs it now?
Sources conflict. One says the Auberge Resorts brand ended in April 2023 and that the resort is now marketed with Mr & Mrs Smith and bookable through Hyatt, while a 2026 review still calls it an Auberge Resorts Collection property. The resort was operating, with guest reviews dated July and August 2026. Confirm the current brand when booking.
What can you do there?
The resort has a two-story spa with a meditation garden, a sunset bar, and activities that include beach yoga, paddle boarding and horseback riding. Around Anguilla, guests can go diving, deep sea fishing, island cruising, hiking, biking and bird watching. A cultural tour covers Anguilla’s heritage, and local galleries show contemporary art, wood sculpture and textile art. Check which of these the resort still arranges.
Is it worth it?
Our view: it is one of the more established luxury addresses on Anguilla, with walkable access to Meads Bay. Rates are high, so compare dates and brands before you commit.
