4. Bjorn Borg’s 1976 Miniature Trophy: Sold for $37,000
Another tennis memorabilia from Björn Borg is up next. Previously you read about his racket from 1981 Final sold at approximately $18,500. On our 4th most expensive tennis memorabilia is the miniature of his trophy.
The king of clay was also a legend on a grass-court of Wimbledon. The Swedish super star tennis player broke Fred Perry’s three consecutive Grand Slam winning record with his own five consecutive win.
The trophy is the miniature of the President’s Cup. It was awarded to him in 1976 for his first title. It was sold at £26,400 (approximately $37,000) at Christie’s in 2007.
Despite the false rumor of his attempted suicide, 56 years old Borg is living happily now in Monaco with his fellow tennis players as neighbors, Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki.
