9. Paul Newman
Born on January 26, 1925, Paul Newman was an American actor, film director, entrepreneur, professional racing driver, auto racing team owner, and auto racing enthusiast.
Newman was born in Shaker Heights, and was one of the few actors who successfully made the transition from 1950s cinema to that of the 1960s and 1970s.
He made his debut on Broadway in the original production of William Inge’s Picnic with Kim Stanley in 1953, and from there on, a vast career would unveil.
He won numerous awards along the years, such as a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award, a BAFTA Award, six Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy Award, and I could go on forever.
During the 1950s and 60s Newman held a rebellious persona and women idealized his movie characters, thus becoming a well known sex symbol.
