6.Devil Island Prison – China
Our next unique restaurant is the Devil Island Prison, in China.
Ever dined in a jail? Probably not, but you could try it, without being guilty of something, of course. The Devil Island Prison looks exactly like a concentration camp, its owner wanting to raise awareness on the difficulties of life in imprisonment and the harsh conditions of detention.
The Devil Island Prison takes its role seriously, so be prepared to be photographed, have an allocated inmate number tag, get fingerprinted and handcuffed. Yes, all that in a restaurant.
In the cells where you dine you will find simple metal tables, with the furnishing being replicas of the prison décor, iron bars, and all that. The waiters wear black and white striped jail uniforms.
