Today we are talking about 10 celebrity first dates, and we are telling you, they are less fancier than we expected.
Even though some of the couples unfortunately broke up, and some of them are married or dating somebody else now, we think they once were very loved couples, so we’re going to see how the met.
They are famous, they were in the media’s attention, and they met in rather “normal” ways, and we surely did not expect that.

1.Barack & Michelle Obama
We start our first date journey with Barack and Michelle Obama.
America’s First couple did not have a very official date, as you would expect.
Instead, in 1989, they went to the cinema, to watch, of course, a political drama. At that time, Michelle was working a law firm, and was assigned to mentor Barack Obama as a summer associate.
Not a big fan of the corporate law world, Barack Obama seems to have been a big fan of Michelle. The couple watched Do The Right Thing, a film by Spike Lee and later on shared an ice cream and a kiss.
We don’t know about you, but we love the Obamas. They are not the very serious type of couple, they are natural, authentic and down to earth.
“I didn’t think it was possible, but today, I love my husband even more than I did four years ago…even more than I did 23 years ago, when we first met. I love that he’s never forgotten how he started.”

2.William & Kate Middleton
Prince William and Kate Middleton did not meet in official circumstances either.
While studying at the University of St. Andrews, the couple were good friends, after meeting in 2001. William decided to invite Kate out on a date, which didn’t go as he probably planned.
Wanting to make a joke, Kate tried a curtsey, but she fell over, and made William spill his drink on himself.
It seems like this unfortunate happening did not affect their marriage, the couple getting married in 2011, after dating since 2003.
Even though their marriage was much publicized and a lot of speculations were made, Kate and William stood by each other, and they seem happier than ever.
On 22 July 2013 the couple had their first son, George Alexander Louis.
Kate and William are definitely one classy couple, the Duchess of Cambridge being the number one on Vanity Fair’s annual Best Dressed lists in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.

3.Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones
On number 3 on the list of celebrity first dates we have Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
The couple met during a film festival in 1998, where Catherine’s film, The Mask of Zorro was screening, after being introduced by Danny DeVito.
It seems like Douglas was quite impressed with her performance, because he approached Zeta-Jones afterwards and told her:
“I want to father your children.”
Zeta-Jones gave actor Douglas quite an ironic reply, saying:
“I’ve heard a lot about you. It’s nice to know it’s all true. Good night.”
The couple started dating in 1999 and in spite of the big age difference (25 years), by 2000 they were married.
Unfortunately Zeta-Jones and Douglas went through some serious couple problems and in 2013 People magazine claimed that they are living separately. It seems like the two of them managed to reconcile, Catherine moving back in their New York apartment.

4.Jessica Alba & Cash Warren
On number 4 we have beautiful Jessica Alba and Cash Warren.
It seems like there story wasn’t love at first sight, because the couple were friends before starting dating. Their first date was a low key, usual day out, riding bicycles.
“I just came up with anything so we could spend time together, I was like, ‘Wanna go get some licorice at the 7/11?’ “
Alba and Warren met in 2004, while filming Fantastic Four. They married in 2008, the couple having two daughters.
We think their relationship started really cute, and we hope that their marriage is not going to fall apart!

5.Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner
On number 5 we have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.
The two of them were spotted on a baseball game in 2004, on their first date. They cutely shared a hot dog and engaged into public display of affection.
But the date took a wrong turn, when the couple were stopped by the police after Affleck made an illegal U-turn. It seems like this happening did not bring bad luck on their marriage.
Affleck proposed to Garner on her birthday, and in 2005 they married. Jennifer was then four months pregnant.
They were a very much media discussed couple, but they did not pay attention to what the people said about them. Good!

6.Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore
Another low key date, was the one of actor Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
Because they wanted to avoid the paparazzi, the two of them went out on a not-so-fancy date, dining at the fast food chain In-N-Out Burger.
Well, with a 15 years older date, you would have thought that Kutcher will take her out on a wine and dine date, right?
They began dating in 2003 and married 2 years later. In 2011, Moore announced that she is ending her marriage with Kutcher, and in 2013 their divorce was finalized.
It seems like the actress went through some hard times after the divorce, especially when Ashton began dating Mila Kunis soon after their divorce.
“We had In-N-Out. It’s hard to go wrong with that—unless you had an Umami Burger.”

7.Katy Perry & Russell Brand
Katy Perry and Russell Brand come on number 7, and opposed to the other couples, they surely had quite a fancy date!
She met Brand while filming a cameo appearance for his film Get Him to the Greek. They began dating after they met again in 2009, and became engaged the same year.
It seems like Brand is quite a romantic guy (even though we wouldn’t have thought of it), him Wowing Perry from the first date. Even though they went out on low-key meal in LA, Russell surprised Katy with a string of black diamonds.
Well wow, Katy, you were one lucky girl! At their first date Ruseell had a copy of his own autobiography in the back of his car. The singer asked him if she could have it, and he signed it by saying:
“You’re a mermaid and I’m drowning.”
This mermaid thing was their intimate joke, Russell calling Katy a mermaid, due to her long and wavy hair.
Unfortunately, even with such a Wow first date, the couple broke up in 2011, after just 14 months of being married. And it was not a nice break up! It seem like Brand sent Katy… a text message saying that he is divorcing her, them never talking ever again.
So not nice, Russell, so not nice.

The couple starting dating after being set up on a blind date by their agents. Well that is quite interesting, isn’t it?
Pitt and former Friends star, Aniston met in 1998, when their managers set them up on a date. He first publicly kissed Jen at a rock concert in D.C., them getting married in 2000.
“Yes, he opens the car door for me, he brings me flowers… He’s a gentleman.”
The couple clicked immediately, them moving in together after day one.
Sadly, they ended their marriage in 2005, when it seems like another woman came into Pitt’s life.

That is the case of Brad and Angie, the couple meeting when shooting Mr. and Mrs. Smith, in 2005. The couple were a very much publicized media story, the press blaming Jolie for breaking up Brad and Jennifer.

One of the classiest, most famous couples are no other than Posh and Becks.
Victoria and David Beckaham began dating in 1997, after they met at a charity football match.
It seems like Posh made the first move, requesting a meeting with him. Well it seems like this was a fortunate decision, because they have been happily married since 1999.
Their first date was at the French Restaurant in Manchester’s Midland Hotel.
“I didn’t really know who he was. I was never into football.”
By the time they got married, Posh and Becks already had their first son, Brooklyn, who, at just 4 months old, was the ring bearer.
