7.Katy Perry & Russell Brand
Katy Perry and Russell Brand come on number 7, and opposed to the other couples, they surely had quite a fancy date!
She met Brand while filming a cameo appearance for his film Get Him to the Greek. They began dating after they met again in 2009, and became engaged the same year.
It seems like Brand is quite a romantic guy (even though we wouldn’t have thought of it), him Wowing Perry from the first date. Even though they went out on low-key meal in LA, Russell surprised Katy with a string of black diamonds.
Well wow, Katy, you were one lucky girl! At their first date Ruseell had a copy of his own autobiography in the back of his car. The singer asked him if she could have it, and he signed it by saying:
“You’re a mermaid and I’m drowning.”
This mermaid thing was their intimate joke, Russell calling Katy a mermaid, due to her long and wavy hair.
Unfortunately, even with such a Wow first date, the couple broke up in 2011, after just 14 months of being married. And it was not a nice break up! It seem like Brand sent Katy… a text message saying that he is divorcing her, them never talking ever again.
So not nice, Russell, so not nice.
