1.Thomas Keller
And our winner, the best chef in the United States, is Thomas Keller.
Inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame, Keller is our number one chef in the US. The chef is the only American to hold 3 Michelin stars for two restaurants simultaneously, Per Se (New York) and The French Laundry (California).
Per Se serves some crazy-exquisite foods, such as white truffle-infused custard, or Maine lobster, while The French Laundry is all about baby lamb chop, bouquets of spring vegetables, or sheep’s milk dumplings. And I tried to present the dishes as simple as I could! Be sure that they are much more sophisticated.
Keller began his career as a dish washer, later on being promoted as a cook. He realized that he loved cooking while he was making a hollandaise sauce, and his name is synonymous with culinary excellence.
The chef wrote several cookbooks, them too being awarded with prestigious awards. Eric Ripert, an amazing chef himself (as you already saw), said about Keller:
What he’s done is amazing. He’s my hero.
And what can define success more than a fellow chef calling you his hero?
There is no doubt that Thomas Keller is the best chef in the United States, his French Laundry making it into the top 50 restaurants in the world.
