6.Long Range Traverse, Newfoundland, Canada
Beware as this isn’t a trail for the weak ones!
The Long Range Traverse on the Gulf of St. Lawrence is a 23-mile trail that takes from 3 to 5 days to complete and opens in June, being available until late in September.
But if you want to do this trail, you have to come really prepared. Excellent skills with map, compass and GPS are mandatory here as you’re experiment some of the worst weather in the world, with no marked or maintained trails along the way.
The trail will take you from inland fjords deep into Gros Morne National Park and to be fair and square, this is the new Mecca for adventures!
Pay very much attention as the alpine krummholz vegetation in Gros Morne seriously complicates navigation!
