The deep blue waters of Lake Como attract all kinds of visitors from all over the world. They come here to enjoy the nature and the history the lake has to offer.
Why did we choose Lake Como from all the places in Italy? Because I’ve recently visited its beautiful landscapes and simply fell in love.
Lake Como is a lake of glacial origin located in Lombardy, Italy. With a surface of 146 square kilometers the lake is the third-largest lake in Italy, after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore.
At over 400 metres (1,300 feet) deep, it is one of the deepest lakes in Europe, and the bottom of the lake is more than 200 metres (660 ft) below sea level.
The nature enthusiasts will definitely enjoy its landscapes. For example many famous people have or have had homes on the shores of Lake Como, such as Madonna, George Clooney, Gianni Versace, Ronaldinho, Sylvester Stallone, Julian Lennon, and many others.
The lake has been a popular retreat for aristocrats and wealthy people since Roman times and a very popular tourist attraction.
The Lake Como has many villas and hotels including Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
The hotel sits on the west shore of Lake Como just south of Bellagio, where the lake branches into two long arms.
People love the Tremezzo hotel because it retains just the right amount of old-fashioned starch such as a room for reading newspapers, a billiards room, tu-y-yo chairs in red.
The scroll-arm chairs in the Sala Musica, the grand public room off the lobby, are done in light, candy-cane-color fabrics.
The Tremezzo has eight Balbeniello suites on the roof, named form the Villa Balbaniello, which served as hospital in the final scenes of the 2006 Casino Royale and also was featured in Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones.
The suites have a view of Lake Como which makes the hotel even more wanted. You can spend all your day sitting on the terrace or just take a bath into the Jacuzzi, either way you won’t get bored.
The Grand Hotel Tremezzo has 70 rooms with Lake View, 22 rooms with Park View, and either one of the rooms will cost you more or less 336€ per night.
What do you think about the hotel? And about the Lake Como? Have you ever visited? Tell us your opinion in the comments below and don’t forget to share!
