10 Of The Biggest Celebrity Regrets
Celebrities aren’t the super perfect people we see on TV, and sometimes they have their fare share of insecurities and regrets.
Whether it’s about their career or their life choices, celebs aren’t so happy with certain things that they’ve done in their past, and that’s exactly what we’re talking about today: 10 of the biggest celebrity regrets.
Some of them are funny, some of them are emotional, and some of them… don’t exactly make sense. But who are we to judge someone’s regrets, right?
Without any further talking, let’s get into celebs’ heads for a while, and see what they regret the most!
1.Britney Spears – Britney & Kevin: Chaotic
I guess you all probably expect Britney Spears to have a lot of regrets, from shaving her head, to all the drug problems, or her failed 55-hour marriage, but no, she doesn’t!
Britney’s only regret is her tv reality show, Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, the 2005 5-episode show where her and ex Federline were filming during an European tour.
“I would never do something like that again. Actually, that was really bad. That was probably the worst thing I’ve done in my career.”
Are you sure THAT was the worst one?
Other people regretted this one as well ->
2.George Clooney – Batman & Robin
George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chris O’Donnell, Uma Thurman and Alicia Silverstone, all together in a movie. Seems like a pretty good movie to watch, right?
Well, not really, if you consider I am talking about the 1997 Batman & Robin. With a production budget of $125 million, the movie was quite a big fail, and it only earned a domestic gross of $107 million.
George Clooney seems to be regretting his first big-budget action adventure film, where he wore that nipple-showing funny batsuit. He admits of getting caught up in the excitement, and imagined that the movie would be a great hit.
“With hindsight it’s easy to look back at this and go, ‘Woah, that was really s**t and I was really bad in it. It was a difficult film to be good in.”
The funniest thing is that years later, director Joel Schumacher even publicly apologised for the movie in an interview. Oh, Wow, that must have hurt.
Nevertheless, Clooney said it was a good experience on set working with the others. And it seems like the movie didn’t affect his career at all.
Don’t we all have the same regret as Oprah? ->
3.Oprah – Wasted Time
Our next celebrity regret is Oprah’s.
It wouldn’t seem like Oprah might have any regrets, because she’s one of the most successful and powerful celebrities in this world, but you know what they say, don’t judge a book by its covers.
Oprah just turned 60, and even though she says that she enjoys this age, and she is more than happy to embrace it, she does have some regrets that we can all relate to:
“The hardest part is really recognizing the time that you’ve wasted and the things that you worried about that really didn’t matter. You regret the time that was wasted.”
He surely has an interesting regret ->
4.Kanye West – Too Little Nudity
If some celebrities regret that they were too exposed and too naked when they were younger, Kanye West regrets exactly the opposite.
The famous rapper seems to enjoy nudity, his latest Bound 2 video which features his wife, Kim, not being so sexy as he would have liked.
In an interview with GQ magazine, Kanye said:
“I would have just liked to have had more nudity in it. That’s the only thing. I just want to do crazy, colourful s*** like that that has more nudity.”
Well, nothing’s stopping you Kanye, and Kimmy surely wouldn’t mind.
Was #5 tricked or was it all just a misunderstanding? ->
5.Bill Murray – Garfield
One of the biggest celebrity regrets is, as you already saw, playing in certain movies.
And Bill Murray is on of those celebs. The famous actor seems like he regrets being the voice of Garfield, him accepting to do it because he thought that his idol, Joel Coen was the script-writer.
Murray later on found out that he misunderstood, but too late for that. In 2009 when the actor played himself in Zombieland, he was asked if he has any regrets during a scene, and he said “Garfield, maybe”.
Even though the movie made over $200 million, and Murray (surprisingly) accepted to be the cat’s voice in the sequel, his statements for GQ are not so positive:
“Finally I went out to L.A. to record my lines… and the lines got worse and worse. And I said, ‘Okay, you better show me the whole rest of the movie, so we can see what we’re dealing with.’ So I sat down and watched the whole thing, and I kept saying, ‘Who the hell cut this thing? Who did this? What the f**k was Coen thinking? And then they explained it to me: it wasn’t written by Joel Coen.”
Well, that is just bad luck, Murray.
#6 has the most emotional insecurity ->
6.Benedict Cumberbatch – Not Yet Having Children
One of the biggest and most emotional regrets is that of Benedict Cumberbatch.
The Sherlock actor seems like he didn’t have much luck in love, him ending a relationship of 12 years in 1999.
Cumberbatch has been linked with several high-profile women such as Liv Tyler and a British actress, and when asked by the British newspaper Daily Mail which was his biggest insecurity, Benedict said:
“Not being a dad by the age of 32.”
Don’t worry, we bet you’ll be a great dad, whenever that time comes!
His regret makes him a kind-hearted person, doesn’t it? ->
7.Justin Timberlake – Not Supporting Janet Jackson
And it seems like pretty boy Justin Timberlake has a regret of his own.
Remember the 2004 Super Bowl when Janet Jackson fleshed everyone? If not, let me refresh your memory: Janet and Justin were singing, and at the end of their song the singer ripped open her jacket and revealed her breast. Naked breast.
Jackson took much of the blame of the wardrobe malfunction, and the controversy was dubbed as Nipplegate.
About that unfortunate happening, Timberlake says:
“I wish I had supported Janet more. I’m not sorry I apologized, but I wish I had been there more for Janet.”
“It’s terrible. It’s really embarrassing.” Find out why #8 said that! ->
8.Matt Damon – The Bourne Ultimatum
One of the biggest celebrity regrets belongs to Matt Damon.
It seems like even though the Bourne franchise of movies was pretty successful, making over a billion dollars, Matt Damon was not so pleased with it.
He kind of hated his role, and the script that Tony Gilroy wrote. The actor said:
“It’s just that it was unreadable. This is a career-ender. I mean, I could put this thing up on eBay and it would be game over for that dude. It’s terrible. It’s really embarrassing. “
He later on apologized for being unprofessional, and he explained that the reason why he’s was not a cast in the 2012 The Bourne Legacy movie is because he believed that the storyline for his character has run its course.
#9 surely has a lot of regrets! ->
9.Cher – (missed) sexual conquests, Burlesque, and anti-Miley tweets
It seems like Cher is one big celebrity with many regrets.
The American singer and actress is one of the most important signers, and an Oscar-winning actor as well.
With crazy stage costumes and an impressive voice, Cher has spent quite a lot of time in Hollywood and like any other person, she has her share of regrets.
The singer has admitted regretting the 2010 Burlesque movie.
“It wasn’t a good film. It had a few good moments, but I didn’t even like my performance that much.”
Besides Burlesque, Cher also regrets not spending more time in her affair with Marlon Brando and refusing Elvis Presley’s invite to his home. Oh, girls regretting the men in their lives, usual.
Cher’s most recent apology was to Miley Cyrus, after she dissed her 2013 VMA performance:
“She can’t dance, her body looked like hell, the song wasn’t great and one cheek was hanging out.”
She hated her role ->
10.Katherine Heigl – Knocked Up
The last celebrity regret is Ketherine Heigl‘s.
I bet you all know the funny 2007 Knocked Up movie. But it seems like for Heigl the film was not so funny.
The actress kind of immediately started speaking against the movie, saying that it was very sexist. Her co-stars Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd were portrayed as funny, loveable characters, while her part was that of an uptight woman.
Heigl had a hard time playing in the comedy because she didn’t enjoy her character at all.
“I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy?”
Well, cheer up Katherine! It’s not you, it’s just the movie.
