The Meher and Riddhima Fall/Winter inspiration is derived from the Elizabethan Era – which is also known as the Golden Age. It was the reign of Queen Elizabeth in Great Britain and the most prominent age in English history. It saw the flowering of poetry, music and literature. The era is most famous for theatre, as William Shakespeare and many others composed plays that broke free of England’s past style of theatre. It was an age of exploration and expansion.

It was an inspiring period for dramatic and creative clothing, M&R draws inspiration from the ruffles on collars and cuffs, a trend that originally started in men’s clothing and was later adorned by the Queen herself. The exaggerated ruffles and strong details in the Queen’s different clothes exuded femininity, while also depicting her powerful status. M&R strives to empower women through their clothes and hence the Era is a perfect reflection of the same.

The colors palette of royal purple, teal, noir, ivory and red in the collection depict the royal Era. Heavier fabrics such as Jacquard, Georgettes, Satin and Taffeta are combined with softer Lace and Crepe di chine to form a versatile collection. The collection also includes a bold flower print in red, noir and ivory.

M&R presents a collection that allow women to go from day to evening seamlessly, the separates; tops and bottoms in the collection play an important role, with almost every piece being interchangeable.

The Fall/Winter 2016 collection features Raha Moharrak, Kelly Lundberg and Uma Ghosh Deshpande as they resonate with the M&R philosophy.

Raha Moharrak is the youngest Arab and the first Saudi woman to conquer Mount Everest.

Previously she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Vinson, Mount Elbrus, Aconcagua, Kala Pattar, Pico de Orizaba and Iztaccihuatl. Moharrak’s only hope is that her achievements will help change the perception that Saudi women have of themselves. For Moharrak, the achievement is not being the first Saudi woman to conquer Everest, but to ensure she is not the last.

She is also chosen by Nike for their latest short inspirational film aimed at motivating girls in the Middle East to take up new training challenges in 2016 and was recently the star of Burberry’s exclusive Middle East Art of the Trench campaign.

Kelly Lundberg is a renowned entrepreneur, keynote speaker and author, who has built her cutting-edge empire from the fabulous world of fashion styling.

A finalist in the People’s Choice category, and Most Admirable Business Woman category at the SME Advisor Awards, Lundberg has established herself as one of the region’s key innovators and entrepreneurs. In 2005, she launched StyleMeDivine.com, a bespoke styling agency, which taps into the regional insight that women (and men) like to have help with choosing clothes, shoes and accessories.

Starting off with at-home wardrobe consultations and shopping sessions, Kelly’s business has grown into an international style forum and boutique for both men and women. Kelly’s work spans the spectrum of global fashion and beauty; styling clients locally and internationally she is also brand ambassador for celebrities’ favourite Neom Luxury Organics and accessory designer Lulu Guinness.

Uma Ghosh Deshpande, Celebrity partner for World food Programme, is an award- winning TV Producer, Presenter, Fashion Designer and Youth Icon.

Uma is credited for pioneering the television broadcast industry in the Middle East. It all began in 2005, when she produced the hugely successful and iconic lifestyle show, High Life Dubai that created a niche for itself in the years to follow.

Meanwhile, Uma founded ‘Queen Bee Production’, a top of the line production unit, with a vision to provide high quality programming in the region and beyond. With a large fan-base on both electronic and social media, Uma can be considered the true ambassador of Dubai’s emerging stature. Her weekly column on Gulf News Friday Tabloid! called the ‘Dubai Insider’ has caught the imagination of an entire nation and is one of the most widely read print weeklies out there.

A former beauty pageant winner, Uma endorses brands such as Pacific Ventures, Philip Stein, Natura Bisse, Kala Niketan, and is the Celebrity Club Member of Tag Heuer. She has previously endorsed Fair & Lovely Arabia and Danube Buildmart too.
