7. McLaren F1 LM ($13.7 million)
This McLaren F1 LM may not be as historical as most of the cars we have seen on this list. Besides the Bugatti Veyron, this is the only car from the 2000s in Ralph Lauren car collection.
A product of one of the biggest companies in Formula 1, it should come as no surprise that this car became one of the world’s most expensive. Thanks to Ron Dennis, what was originally just a concept car, about a hundred McLaren F1 cars were built.
This 2-door coupe sports car is powered by a 6.1-L BMW V12 engine. Before Bugatti Veyron came to ruin the party, this car was the fastest production car in the world with 386.4 kph maximum speed reached.
One copy hit the RM Auctions in California, United States, two years ago. And one lucky buyer took it home after winning a $13.7-million bid. Ralph owns one of the first productions. Those were once deemed not road legal because of no front indicators. So, they were sent back to McLaren to be fitted with the prototype mirrors. Ralph’s was included.
