7. Pyramid of Giza, Egypt ($5 billion)
Pyramid of Giza is cracking many of our “most expensive” lists. Even though it is only the seventh most expensive on this list, it is on top of our most expensive tombs list.
Buried underneath the 6.5 million tons of stones is King Khufu. He ruled Egypt from the year of 2589 BC. He was buried along with some of the most expensive artifacts in the world.
The Pyramid is without a doubt the largest tomb in the world. It is 230 meters long on each side and around 150 meters high. There are about 2.3 millions of stones piled together forming this world’s wonder. Exactly how the Pyramid was built is still a mystery. Some still believe that magical or alien work was involved.
Even with today’s technologies, some experts believe that it would cost up to $5 billion to replicate the Pyramid. Actually, the material does not cost much because basically it was built of stones only. The costly part is the construction itself.
