We all are very familiar with the worldwide known brand Ferrari that succeeded in delivering some of the most exclusive, efficient and luxurious cars in the world.
Today we are going to talk about another outstanding supercar, the close cousin as one will say, of the Ferrari 250 GTO. The Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa is a powerful race car manufactured by Ferrari the 1950s and 60s.
Why this model is so known and amazing ? Well, Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa cars dominated their competitors during the 24 hour Le Mans, winning the race in 1958, 1960, and 1961.
Although, the Ferrari 250 GTO is the most valuable car that the world has seen, the Testa Rossa is definitely the champion of the races. The 250 GTO has an impact in matter of class when the Testa Rossa is looking only for power.
From 1956 to 1961, 42 Testa Rossa were built. The most known variation of this model is the 250TR, produced between the 1957 and 1958 ( 2 factory cars and 19 customer car were built ).
In case you don’t know a 1957 250 model of this supercar was sold with price tag of $ 16.400.000 on August 2011, setting a new world auction price record. Also, a cool fact is that the name ” Testa Rossa ” means ” red head ” – and I think that red is the only color they have there at Ferrari.
This awesome supercar features a a powerful 3-liter V12 engine that absolutely made history on the tracks. As Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear will say : ” There is sweat..and blood, and a bad attitude in every Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa “.
