The First Dior Virtual Reality Headset is Here!
The Dior Virtual Reality Headset is the newest gadget on the market!
The French fashion brand Dior, launches its first virtual reality headset and named it “Dior Eyes”.
The 3D printed accessory will bring Dior’s fashion shows into your living room. The gadget was developed by the French design business DigitasLBi LABS from Paris.
The VR relies on the combination of a Galaxy Note 4, Samsung’s Gear VR Technology and a 3D printed headset.
Once you activate the headset, it provides 360 degrees visual experience, with a pixel density of 515 ppi and a 100-degree field of view as well as high-quality audio.
Basically you will be able to watch Dior’s fashion shows right from your bedroom or living room, in the comfort of your home.
A world first to try in selected boutiques as of June and an extraordinary invitation to take the 3D dive into the backstage world of the latest Dior Ready-to-Wear show.
They put their creativity audacity and conquering spirit and came up with their own virtual headset, the first combination of VR imagery technologies and sound recording in 360 degrees.
Going beyond the immersive abilities of existing virtual reality systems, “Dior Eyes” provides a unique new experience.
The whole process took them less than 3 months of research and development and prototyping; an approach that lent itself to a speedy execution, advanced materials and a simple and elegant design.
A headset with impressive technical performance, “Dior Eyes” is among the best in the market thanks to the headpiece.
This technological feat of vision is completed with holophonic audio sound, recorded live in 360° thanks to a binaural microphone that perfectly recreates a “spacious and enveloping” sound sensation following the user’s movements.
It represents a new era in the relationship between Dior and its customers: sharing a brand new content form and retail experience.
Beyond the innovation, an intense moment is captured in a single beating heart at the Dior Fashion Show: “The show starts backstage”.
It will be available in June in select Dior stores, and will allow customers to walk backstage at one of the label’s fashion shows.
The company that designed the headset stated in the press how “the headpiece embeds a high density screen (515 ppp) providing a 2K image resolution, in other words hardly pixelated, associated with a FOV (Field of Vision) close to 100°.”
However, the brand is not the only one that got this tech for their customers. You might also like the VR Headset from Audi. Be sure you also check that out!
