The Jannarelly Design-1 Comes with a Front-Hinged Clamshell!
Now the Jannarelly Design-1 comes with a front-hinged clamshell! Keep reading to find out more about it!
Sports car startup Jannarelly is making a lot of noise with its enclosed version of their first model, the retro Design-1.
The Dubai-based company has released the design of the hard-top roof option in a series of computer-generated images just to tease us.
Its hard-top is made from carbon fiber and is as unique as you think, because it does flip forward, making access to cabin easier.
However, we don’t know yet if the roof is permanently attached or removable, but stay tuned for more!
When it comes to the windshield, apparently it has a built-in defogger and wipers, with air conditioning also available.
The lightweight sports car was designed by Anthony Jannarelly, a French designer who is also responsible for the crazy lines of the $3.4 million W Motors Lykan Hypersport.
The power of the car comes from a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V-6 sourced from Nissan, which is mated to a 6-speed manual and offers 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque.
Because it is so small (compared to other cars) and lightweight construction the Design-1 weighs just 1,720 pounds.
With 304 horses on tap, the car will go to 60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds and has a top speed of 135 mph.
The company has hoped to begin to deliver in the United States last November, but plans got delayed because some changed made to the design, such as the new roof and windshield options.
Another key change was an upgrade of the front suspension to fit inboard shock absorbent.
Jannarelly’s distributer in the U.S. is VanDouble Enterprises. Pre-orders for the car can be made via the website jannarellyusa.com and pricing is expected to start at $84,000.
