George Barris purchased the 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car for just $1 and was a part of his collection ever since.
But a few years later, producers of the Adam West “Batman” series gave Barris $150,000 and a short period to turn the Lincoln Futura into a badass Batmobile.
When the 1966 Batmobile 1 finally went up for auction at Barret-Jackson Scottsdale in 2013, it was the first time the car sold, yes for other than the time it went for the price tag of a buck.
The second time around, Batmobile 1 managed to break some hearts when it sold for $4,620,000.
