7. Terminator 2: Judgment Day, helicopter chase scene
Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s big success had some of the greatest fight scenes in history. The 1991 film had T-1000 chasing Sarah and John Connor with Arnold Schwarzeneggar at the wheel of a truck.
Until then, no one had ever seen anything similar before, because no one has had the courage to make it happen.
The one and only James Cameron, who was the director of the film, stepped out and became cameraman and stuntman to capture the scene.
Manly because the film’s principal camera crew refused to film it, and because it was so dangerous to tackle, Cameron was forced to take over to get the job done.
The chase sequence includes the helicopter flying under a highway overpass, appearing to just clear the bridge by scene’s end.
At the time, the film had the largest budget of any, with a whopping $51 million used on stunts and special effects alone, including this famous helicopter scene.
