Czech Republic gained its independence from the Soviet Bloc back in 1989 due to the Velvet Revolution and its subsequent split with Slovakia, after which it has largely concentrated on building a strong capitalist economy and creating a stable climate for investment.

Officially the Kingdom of Belgium, this country is a federal monarchy in Western Europe, and a founding member of the European Union.

Belgium is the home of some of the most majestic castles, medieval cities, and features a captivating natural beauty.

Iceland is a very popular call when it comes to traveling, tourists all over the world coming here to see its its huge glaciers and raging volcanoes.

And this is in spite of the fact that it’s among the world’s top arms exporters.

4. Slovenia
Here we are at number four, and taking its spot in the most peaceful countries on Earth is Slovenia!
With a population of 2.05 million and covering a surface of 20,273 square kilometers, Slovenia is a nation state in southern Central Europe.
Member of the European Union and NATO, the number four on our Top 10 Most Peaceful Countries in the World, has a very low level of organized internal conflicts, violent protests, and number of internal and external wars fought.

2. Norway
Here we are at the number two of the most peaceful countries in the world, and yes, it’s Norway!
With a population of approximately 5,109,059 people and a total area of 385,252 square kilometres, the Kingdom of Norway is a Scandinavian unitary constitutional monarchy.
Probably most of you didn’t expect to see Norway this high in the top, and that’s mainly because of the recent famous mass-murderer Anders Behring Breivik.
But in spite of that isolated incident, and according to the Global Peace Index, Norway is one of the world’s most peaceful countries in the world, and a safe place to live in.
And let’s not forget that Norway is the country with the highest level of human development in the globe.

With a population of around 5.6 million inhabitants, Denmark is a sovereign state in Northern Europe, and is located southwest of Sweden and south of Norway.
This beautiful country really is the most peaceful country in the world!
Even while Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, was under occupation by the Nazis during the World War II, it still did not fight, and this says a lot about it.
Denmark has historically been one of the most socially progressive cultures in the world, and in 1969, Denmark was the first country to legalise pornography.
