Kevin Richardson, who worked at Disney World, joined next, and Brian Littrell flew in from Kentucky after a call from Richardson. Manager Lou Pearlman named the group after Orlando’s Backstreet Market.

They toured US schools to build a fan base, and in 1994 Zomba Music Records offered their first record deal.
