One copy of Untamed pays like 250 podcast plays

By our calculation her podcast share of $5 million over half a billion plays works out to one cent per play. One copy of Untamed at our $2.50 equals 250 of those plays. The book sold more than one million copies in fewer than 20 weeks, Doyle said in 2020, and a November 2021 press release put it past two million. It reached number one on the bestseller list and stayed for seven weeks. Three million copies built the largest row in this ledger, and the podcast with all those plays comes second.

The podcast still matters more for what comes next. It launched in May 2021, and the network that sold it signed a multi-year extension six months later with no money disclosed. It now runs under Treat Media, the company Doyle and Wambach co-founded. If they hold the ad sales and production in-house, our 40 percent cost assumption is too high and the podcast row is too low.

The $55 million that isn’t hers

Together Rising, the nonprofit she founded, has sent more than $55 million to women, families and children in crisis. Divide that by our $8 million and you get 6.9, so the charity has handled about seven times her personal fortune. Its crowd-sourced fundraisers cap gifts at $25 each, so much of that total came in small donations. None of it counts here, and any page that mixes charity money with hers is wrong by a wide margin.

The couple moved to Hermosa Beach, California, in 2021. We haven’t added a home row, because the house is where part of the money above already sits, and adding it would count the same dollars twice. Her Angel City stake dates from 2020, and the club got a public price when Bob Iger and Willow Bay put in $50 million in July 2024. A very small slice of a $250 million club is still real money for an author.

What could move the number

The biggest open item is the Untamed series. Sarah Paulson was attached to play Doyle, a May 2025 report said, under the option Bad Robot took in 2020. A series that gets made would mean producer fees and another wave of book sales. The other lever is the 2025 book, whose sales aren’t public yet: at our $1 per copy for her share, every extra million copies adds $1 million before tax.
