Linda Evangelista is a Canadian supermodel and her current net worth is $30 million.
Born as the second of three children of Italian parents who emigrated to Canada, she grew up in a working-class, Roman Catholic household in St. Catharines, Ontario.
While there, she went to Denis Morris Catholic High School and attended a self-improvement school at the age of 12. There she learned things such as poise and etiquette, and they advised her to start a modeling career.
How did Linda Evangelista start her career?
She began her career, as a teenager, by modeling locally in her hometown. She even participated in the Miss Teen Niagara beauty pageant.
However, she didn’t win the pageant, but her presence caught the eye of someone from Elite Model Management.
At 16 years old, she flew to Japan to model there, but because she had to pose nude during a modeling assignment she almost quit modeling altogether.

Then in 1985, she started working with Karl Lagerfeld, to whom she would become a muse.
After this, she became one of the first editorial models to successfully cross over into the realm of runway modeling.
She also became a muse to the late fashion designer Gianni Versace, for whom she first appeared in ad campaigns in 1987.
In addition, she also modeled for numerous other fashion brands such as Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, among others.
And, she has represented a diverse array of other companies and non-fashion brands like Visa, American Express, Pizza Hut, De Beers, and Elizabeth Arden.
During this period, she met photographer Steven Meisel, with whom she became friends and his muse.
A few years later, she started appearing in advertisements and commercials for Revlon’s “The Most Unforgettable Women in the World” campaign.
Photographer Peter Lindbergh suggested to her that she cut her hair short, after seeing her try on a short wig for a photo shoot. At first, the fashion industry didn’t like the haircut and she was canceled from 16 fashion shows.
In the following year, her haircut became the look of the season and named “The Linda”. Even inspired the creation of a wig called “The Evangelista”.
During this time, she became famous as one of the five supermodels, a group of star models who reached the pinnacle of success during the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Together with Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell, they became “The Trinity”.
Throughout most of her modeling career, people referred to her as the fashion industry’s “chameleon” for the way that she constantly reinvented herself with various hairstyles and ever-changing hair colors that inspired hair trends.
