How much is Mat Fraser worth in 2026?

We put him at about $6 million, inside a range of $3 million to $9 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. Only the prize money has published numbers. HWPO has never released revenue, subscribers or ownership in anything we could open, so its row is our assumption.

How Mat Fraser built it

  • Lived cheaply after college. He stayed with his parents and drove an inexpensive car after finishing college.
  • Managed his own investments. In 2019 he said he had moved his assets under his own management.
  • Started a coaching company. He launched HWPO Training in 2021, the year he retired from competition.

How we got to $6 million

Source Our estimate What it rests on
Prize money after tax $1 million About $1.75 million across the 2016 to 2020 seasons (table below), and we assume he kept 60 percent. Runner-up seasons in 2014 and 2015 aren’t counted, as we found no payout figures.
Sponsors, 2016 to 2026, after tax $2.4 million Assumption: $400,000 a year for 10 years, keeping 60 percent. Nike, which released signature shoes, and Rogue are named partners. Contract terms are private.
Stake in HWPO Training $3 million Assumption. He is founder and chief product officer, Matt O’Keefe is co-founder and CEO. No revenue or cap table is public. Range $1 million to $6 million.
Podium and While on Earth $0.5 million Assumption. A 2025 profile names him as a co-founder of Podium and links him to developer While on Earth, with no figures.
Spending minus $1.5 million Assumption: $150,000 a year for 10 years.
Investment returns $0.6 million Assumption: $1.5 million invested on average for about 7 years at 6 percent. He told Yahoo Finance in 2019 he had moved his assets under his own management.

Total: $6 million. Five of the six rows are assumptions. We would rather show that than print a tidier number.

Adding up the prize checks

Season Paid Source
2016 About $292,000 Reported as $16,000 less than 2017
2017 $308,000 FloElite
2018 $300,000 Our assumption, the winner’s prize in 2019
2018-19 $491,038 Morning Chalk Up
2019-20 $354,542 Built for Athletes

That comes to $1,745,580, by our calculation, or about $349,000 per title. The first three lines are Games payouts and the last two are full-season totals. His 2019 total was more than the next five male earners combined, who took about $460,000 between them. Even so, after a 40 percent tax haircut, the most dominant run in his sport is worth about 17.5 percent of our headline. Prize money made him famous. Sponsors and a company had to do the rest.

From a lost weightlifting career

Fraser was a junior national weightlifting champion in 2009 before he quit the sport in 2012, citing lost funding and waning interest, his biography shows. Yahoo Finance reported in November 2019 that he lived with his parents after college and drove a cheap car. The same piece named Nike, Beam, Rogue, Compex and SteadyMD as affiliations. In July 2021 BoxRox ran a headline saying his bank account was negative $600,000, with no explanation beyond a linked video. We could not establish what that meant, so it isn’t in the ledger.

The company after the podium

He announced his retirement on February 2, 2021, and launched HWPO that same year as an online coaching platform. Morning Chalk Up reported in January 2025 that it had added golf, weightlifting and running programs, that affiliates are a significant share of business, and that a Boston headquarters and gym were planned. A HYROX partnership followed in May 2025, and a November 2025 profile says HWPO was title sponsor of the Boston race that September. No terms were disclosed for any of it.

His audience is the one large public number: about 2.29 million Instagram followers and 278,000 on YouTube as of October 2026, per CreatorDB. Public estimates sit in the single-digit millions, and the one we opened shows no working. Nobody publishes what HWPO is worth, which is why those figures can’t be checked. A sale or funding round would settle that, and it would move this page more than anything else.
