How much is Patty Mills worth in 2026?

We estimate $40 million, with a fair range of $30 million to $50 million. The salary side is unusually well documented. Basketball.com.au put his NBA career earnings at about US$85.6 million over 16 seasons, before tax, and estimated that about US$36 million may have gone to tax before agent commissions and other costs. Everything after those two numbers is our assumption, so read the rest as a reasoned estimate.

How we got to $40 million

Source Our estimate What it rests on
NBA salaries after tax $49.6 million Reported US$85.6 million in career earnings, less about US$36 million in estimated tax.
Agent commissions minus $2.6 million Our assumption: 3 percent of $85.6 million.
Living costs over 16 seasons minus $16 million Our assumption: $1 million a season.
2020 restart salary donated minus $1 million He gave away about $1.02 million of bubble pay.
Returns on savings $6.8 million Our assumption: $15 million invested on average for nine years, since the 2017 contract, at 5 percent a year.
Endorsements and books $2 million Our assumption: $4 million gross over his career, half kept after tax and fees. No deal value is public.
La Laguna Tenerife and ASVEL, 2026 $0.5 million Our assumption: about half a season of European pay. Neither club published terms.
Brisbane Breakers stake $0.3 million Our assumption. He joined the ownership group in February 2024. The size of the stake was not disclosed.
Total $40 million Rows add up to $39.6 million, rounded.

The 2017 contract did most of the work

Salary Swish lists his contracts one by one, and the list makes a single decision look enormous. On August 4, 2017, a week before he turned 29, he signed with San Antonio for four years and $50,000,001. The base salaries in that deal add up to $48 million. By our calculation, $48 million divided by $85.6 million is 56 percent of his NBA career earnings, or 58 percent if the full $50 million was paid.

Compare that with the start. His first five NBA contract years, 2009 to 2014, paid $457,588, $937,195, $261,829, $1,085,120 and $1,133,950. That sums to about $3.9 million, or roughly a third of what he earned in 2019-20 alone ($12.4 million). The last of those salaries is the one he collected in the 2014 championship season.

After San Antonio the pay fell by more than half. Brooklyn paid him $5.9 million and then $6.5 million, then $6.8 million in 2023-24, the season Atlanta waived him on February 29, 2024. A one-year deal with Utah in 2024-25 was worth $3.3 million.

The Partizan offer he reportedly turned down

He signed with La Laguna Tenerife on March 8, 2026, then a one-year deal with Tony Parker’s LDLC ASVEL in the summer of 2026. Basketball.com.au reported that he turned down a two-year offer from Partizan worth 1.8 million euros, about A$2.9 million. At the US$0.65 per Australian dollar implied by that July 2026 article, that is about US$1.9 million. His 2020-21 salary of $13.3 million was seven times that entire offer.

The same article gives a useful reason European money beats its sticker price. In its example, a $1 million contract in Australia’s NBL leaves about $507,000 after tax and fees, while a 1 million euro net deal in the EuroLeague leaves about 920,000 euros after the agent, with the club covering local tax. His ASVEL terms are undisclosed, so we assume about $1 million for the season.

The side projects are small next to the salary

A February 2024 release announced his ownership stake in the Brisbane Breakers pickleball team, alongside Andrew Liveris’s family office. He was also hired as general manager of the Hawaii basketball program in June 2025, and he co-wrote a children’s book series published in 2018. We found no public pay figure for any of them.

His 2020 donation is easier to size. He gave about $1.02 million in restart pay to Black Lives Matter Australia and related causes. By our math that is about 1.2 percent of his career NBA earnings.

Why other numbers differ, and what could move ours

Public estimates often repeat career earnings as if they were savings, skipping the $36 million or so in tax. The next change is the end of his ASVEL deal after the 2026-27 season. Investment returns would matter more than any contract from here: 1 percentage point more a year on our $15 million base adds about $1.4 million over nine years.
