We estimate about $7.3 million, within a range of $3 million to $15 million. This one is a rough estimate: little of the money is documented. The company’s results are public. His share of it is not, and neither are his brand fees. So the known part is what the business earned, and the assumed part is how much of that business is his.
Public estimates disagree because they have to guess the same stake, and some count company revenue as personal money. Rupees are converted at 95 to the dollar, close to the 95.02 average X-Rates shows for November 1 to 3, 2026.
How we got to $7.3 million
| Source | Our estimate | What it rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Stake in The 1% Club | $6.4 million | Our assumption on two points. Inc42’s data shows FY25 profit after tax of ?8.7 crore, the latest year we could open. We apply 20 times earnings, which gives ?174 crore, and a 35 percent stake, which gives ?60.9 crore. No cap table was open to us. |
| Content income, kept | $0.6 million | Our assumption: ?3 crore a year for 5 years is ?15 crore. Less 40 percent tax leaves ?9 crore, and spending a third leaves ?6 crore. No brand rates are public. |
| Startup investments | $0.3 million | Our assumption: CB Insights lists four investments with amounts hidden, so we use $75,000 each at cost. |
| Total | $7.3 million | $6.4 million + $0.6 million + $0.3 million. |
31,000 customers a year, and they only pay once
Inc42 reported in November 2023 that a lifetime membership cost ?16,999 and that it was the company’s only revenue stream at the time. Our calculation: FY25 revenue of ?52.6 crore divided by ?16,999 is about 30,900 memberships. Profit of ?8.7 crore across those buyers is about ?2,800 each. The price may have moved and other products may now exist, so treat that as a scale check. It still shows the shape of the thing. A subscription company starts each year with last year’s customers. This one starts each year at zero.
That is why we stop at 20 times earnings, well below the 57 times earnings WestBridge Capital agreed to pay for a stake in Edelweiss Mutual Fund in 2025. His audience is the sales team. He had nearly 3.3 million followers in December 2022, and a partner profile puts the figure above 3.9 million.
A run rate is a nice thing to quote
In August 2024 Storyboard18 reported 64,000 paying lifetime members and a revenue rate above ?60 crore. The FY25 figure, covering that same month, landed at ?52.6 crore, so the quoted rate ran about 14 percent ahead of the year. Inc42’s own page also shows ?54.9 crore in one place and ?8.4 crore of profit in another. We used the figures in its financial breakdown. Either way the growth is real: FY24 revenue was ?31.4 crore.
The ?10 crore from Gruhas, the firm Nikhil Kamath co-founded, reportedly took an hour to raise, and co-founder Raghav Gupta said in 2024 that it was sitting untouched, like a fixed deposit. The stake sold has not been disclosed, which is the one number that would settle most of this page.
From consulting to the cap table
He left a consulting job during pandemic pay cuts and began posting finance videos in 2020. He reckoned on 13 hours of work for each 30-second video, then 4 more hours replying to viewers. Lately he has been on the other side of the table: CB Insights dates an angel investment in Madhouse Mafia, a creator management company, to June 16, 2026.
What would move the number
Three things, in order. A disclosed cap table: every 5 points of stake is worth about $0.92 million at our multiple. A funding round: each 10 points of earnings multiple adds about $3.2 million. And FY26 accounts, which will show whether the buyer count kept growing or a one-time product started to run out of buyers.
