The Sky Pool in Houston that Hangs Over Building’s Edge Will Make Your Feet Shake!
This Sky Pool in Houston will make your legs shake, and will send shivers down your spine! But you’ll get to see downtown Houston from 40 stories above ground, which is nice!
Located at the Market Square Tower in downtown Houston, this swimming pool is not for everyone.
Like we said, this swimming pool is not like the others you might find, and only the bravest people have the courage to swim 40 stories above ground.
This glass-bottomed pool is located on the 42nd floor of a luxury apartment block in Texas.
The rooftop swimming pool extends over the side of the building to let swimmers see the busy street located 500 feet below, making them feel like they are flying over the city.
Only those who are brave enough and not afraid of heights like I am will be able to experience such incredible feeling.
The luxury apartment building that opened in November 2016 in Houston features the tallest, cantilevered and clear pool in the entire United States.
The roof of the building has a standard rooftop pool, with a twist. The part that extends out over the building is 8 feet long and 4 feet deep.
The pool, which is reinforced with special waterproof concrete and epoxy-coated rebar, has the extension made of 5.5-inch-thick, clear acrylic plastic.
According to the international firm Walter P Moore, who engineered the pool and worked with aquarium specialists at Reynolds Polymer, this pool was designed to withstand hurricane conditions.
The incredible pool is only available to residents of the building and their guests.
There is a video of a brave soul who appears to walk on thin air, which has rose mixed reactions, with some saying: ‘Eek! No thanks! Not my type of fun living on edge,’ while another penned: ‘This is the coolest idea ever I wanna go here.’
A gobsmacked third user asked: How is this architecturally possible? To be suspended over traffic like that think of the perimeter structure. Is it like a tube? I’m trying to wrap my brain around it!’
So what do you say? Are you going to swim in this incredible glass-bottomed pool?
