4. “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”
Moving on to number four on our list, we encounter yet another Christmas song, obviously! This time, the “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”.
The song was originally written and composed for the 1966 cartoon special How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
And if you don’t know who’s behind it, we’ll let you know that the lyrics were written by Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel, the music was composed by Albert Hague, and the song was performed by Thurl Ravenscroft.
Thurl Ravenscroft recorded two versions of the selection, one version for the television special and the other version for the soundtrack.
“You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” has been covered by a number of other artists, including Cee Lo Green, Jim Carrey, and many more.
