As NATO’s role is to help neutral countries in modern warfare is they ask, more countries like Sweden and Norway could cooperate and upgrade their forces.
In the case of the U.S who has contracts with all the European countries to provide them the latest in defense weapons, it is a win situation that will boost the arms industry of the Americans.
This way they gain more money and make more arms and supply at the same time the enemies of their enemies, isolating Russia and creating new allies.
