Zana Bayne x Marc Jacobs: A Story of How BDSM Meets Luxury

Since we’re in the middle of all this madness, here’s the good news: if 50 Shades of Grey is at the risk of making BDSM way too mainstream, Zana Bayne’s collaboration with Marc Jacobs brings bondage face to face with luxury.

Her insanely hot leather pieces are many celebrities’ favorites and bring out the dominatrix-style in all of them on the red carpet – such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Azealia Banks – and she doesn’t stop there.

Zana Bayne is quite wanted among the fashion scene as she designed accessories for famous brands such as Prabal Gurung and Victoria’s Secret, but this time she hit the jackpot with her latest collaboration with Marc Jacobs that came about just a few weeks ago.

It all started as a bombshell collection specially created for Valentine’s Day, they might’ve just designed the most exciting and brand new luxurious fun to take in the bedroom for the rest of 2015.

Her collaboration with Marc Jacobs brought sexy and luxury together and took them to another level with heart-shaped lambskin pasties, collars, cuffs and other nasty accessories crafted with luxurious details.

Even they didn’t expect to be such an astounding success as lots of them have already sold out, so we’re looking towards a major breakthrough for the combination of BDSM and luxury.

And the best part of it all, it’s that all the pieces in the collection are extremely comfortable given the fact they’re designed this way, as Zana says in an interview with Style:

They’re supposed to feel great on the skin. They’re not only visually really interesting, they’re also functional, which is very important.

Apparently, it was a very good decision for Marc Jacobs to hit off this collaboration as they approached Zana and it turned out to be a really fun team as she drops the nasty secret in the same interview:

They approached me, but with Marc Jacobs there’s always something playful or a hint of naughtiness.

And just because of that, even though it all started as the idea of making “a fun grouping of Valentine’s Day-themed products”, with the ideas of Marc Jacobs and the artistic instincts of Zana it eventually led to something way bigger and more diversified.

And she also reveals her secret – it’s not about the BDSM itself, but it’s about the aesthetic details of this entire concept that work as an inspiration for her work as she reveals:

It’s an aesthetic that looks really great, that I want to interpret into my own work, not necessarily to make sex toys or bondage-wear, but to take elements of those pieces.

Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, the fun only just begins, so you’d better start shopping for just a sprinkle of sexy and luxury in your bedroom.
