The talk show guru is proud of his past, even if he and his father were living in a car when he was young. When he was a teenager, he and his family stayed at the YMCA until they managed to get a one-bedroom apartment.

“I was homeless living in a car with my dad. We eventually got a room at the downtown YMCA for five bucks a week. I cherish those memories. That was my time to learn how to deal with stress and adversity – lessons I’d never have learned any other way at this age. I learned what it meant to work hard, to stay focused and to set goals.”
