The Holiday – 2005
The Holiday is an chick flick that received numerous fan reviews as being the most interesting movie for teenage girls.
So this time Cameron Diaz plays the role of an advertising firm owner who produces movies trailers.
After a hard break-up she switches places with Kate Winslet’s character as they are both in similar situations and decide that changing homes for two weeks is a good idea.
She falls for the brother of Iris (Kate Winslet) and discovers love far away from home.
This time she has a different type of character where she needs to focus on having to deal with a post relation adventure that turn into something real.
The role she plays has to figure everything out, to change a little bit the way of thinking and also to display a different kind of mood, changing her way of dealing with things.
A little bit more realistic than other roles, this particular one made her enjoy acting on the set and even gave her the possibility to improvise on some scenes because the comedy genre was a little forced there and she wanted to recreate a more plausible version.
So now her IMDB score raised a little bit, 6.9 and the reviews were better, making it our number 5 on the list of best Cameron Diaz movies.
