In Mexico, most beer is produced by Cerveceria Modelo (Grupo Modelo) and Cerveceria Cuauhtemoc-Moctezuma/FEMSA.
Although Mexico produces lots of beer, it only exports just some of the brands that have become household names in the U.S. However, Mexico City is definitely a city where you can enjoy some of the finest beers, many brewed from century-old recipes.
What we recommend is a beer cocktail called ‘michelada’, made of light beer with lots of lime juice, salt and can include chili powder, soy sauce or tomato juice.
Where to drink: Salon Corona II on Filomeno Mata, La Opera Bar on Av Cinco de Mayo, El Deposito and La Terraza del Conquistador.
