10Cirque du Soleil
And we begin our list with the Canadian entertainment company, Cirque du Soleil.
The circus is one of the first events we attend when kids. But Cirque du Soleil brought the tradition to a whole new level.
Founded in 1984 by Guy Laliberte, Gilles Ste-Croix and Daniel Dauthier, Cirque du Soleil expanded rapidly through the 1990s and 2000s, from 1 show to 19 shows in over 271 cities worldwide.
With 5.020 employees who are doing their best to offer the most stunning shows, Cirque du Soleil received several awards, such as 1997 Bambi Award, 1989 Rose d’Or, 3 Drama Desk Awards in 1991, 1998 and 2013, 3 Gemini Awards, 4 Primetime Emmy Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
9White Nights and Scarlet Sails Festival
Both taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia, both well-known, both awesome! We are talking about the White Nights Festival and Scarlet Sails. This cool tradition began after World War II, when students gathered to celebrate the end of the school year. As you can see, they still do it.
The first one consists of a series of opera, ballet, music events and performances of Russian dancers, singers, actors, as well as international guest stars.
The White Nights Festival represents a celebration of life and arts and gathers about 1 million people.
The Scarlet Sails is the most famous public event during the White Nights Festival, well known for its spectacular fireworks and water shows.
It is one of the most enjoyable events organized by the Saint Petersburg City Administration and it’s truly a must on the bucket list. The celebration is held during the arctic season, when you can still see the sun at midnight. It begins in May, at Mariinsky Theatre and ends in July.
8Coachella
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, commonly referred to as Coachella, is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Located in the Indland Empire’s Coachella Valley, Colorado Desert, this amazing festival was founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and organized by Goldenvoice.

This event manages to attract large crowds looking for a camping experience, and obviously, good music. And this event has it all, from rock, hip hop, electronic dance music to indie. Also, let’s not forget about those art installations and sculptures.
Among the notable artists are included Amy Whinehouse, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg (now Snoop Lion), Paul McCartney, Wu-Tang Clan, Radiohead, Daft Punk, Madonna, Kanye West, The Strokes, Jay-Z, Beastie Boys, Muse, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many more. This year, Choachella hosted 579.000 people and grossed a whopping $78.3 million.
7Burning Man
This event begins on the last Monday in August and ends on the first Monday of September.
And this coincides with the American Labor Day holiday.
Although Burning Man is one of the weirdest events, it’s something unique.
Basically, it’s filled with wacky people who gather in the desert and build a temporary town which they call Black Rock City. And apparently, if you want to attend, you have to contribute to that construction.
Here comes the crazy part, which is the burning of the giant wooden town that was constructed just for being destroyed later.
And you’ll be surprised how many people attend this event.
In 2010, 51.515 people attended and the following year there were 50.000 participants.
6Oktoberfest
Let’s face it! Everyone would want to attend such event.
Held annually in Munich, Germany, Oktoberfest is a 16-day festival from late September to October. That means beer all day long for 16 days. And other activities, of course.
To the locals, this event is simply called Wiesn.
It officially began in 1810, and now, it is one of the most popular worldwide events, with more than 6 million people from around the world attending Oktoberfest every year.
The beer, as well as the food, is just extraordinary. But it’s the atmosphere and hospitality that will keep you coming back year after year. It’s filled with beer, food, lost of people, songs, and entertainment.

5Running of the Bulls
You have to be a bit crazy to attend such an event, but that’s why it’s called ‘before you die’. Feel the irony here.
The 8-day festival is held in Pamplona, Spain, as well as in towns and villages across Spain, Portugal, and in some cities in Mexico.
As you already figured it out, the Running of the Bulls involves running in front of a small group of bulls.
There are some rules though. All the participants must be at least 18 years old, not be under the influence of alcohol, run in the same direction as the bulls, and most important, not incite the bulls. Do you want to give it a try?
4Mardi Gras
Held in the French Quarter, New Orleans, Louisiana, Mardi Gras is well-known for its colors (green, purple and gold), its masks, masquerade balls and last but not least, beads.

The party doesn’t stop until the next morning, although most people are drunk prior to noon.

3FIFA World Cup
If you’re going to attend one sporting event in this lifetime, might as well be FIFA World Cup. Forget the Super Bowl! Or the Olympics!
Here is where the real action is! Not only that FIFA draw the best players from around the world, but nothing compares to that atmoshpere, especially when you hear the crowd screaming from the top of their lungs.
It is true. Getting a ticket is difficult, but not impossible. And if your team loses, not to worry! Rivalries are part of the charm of this event. And not to mention, tension!
2Tomorrowland
If there’s an event that we desperately want to attend is Tomorrowland. Do you feel the same?
Just imagine how it would be like if we were all together there. This large electronic music festival is held the the town of Boom, Belgium.
The first edition took place in 2005, and we come with good news. Last year, ID&T Belgium and SFX Entertainment announced that it would begin organizing another festival, called TomorrowWorld, which is a spin-off of Tomorrowland. TomorrowWorld is held at the Bouckaert Farm, in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, 48 km southwest of Atlanta.
3 years in a row, 2012, 2013 and 2014, Tomorrowland has won the International Dance Music Awards for ‘Best Music Event’, as well as Red Bull Elektropedia Awards for ‘Best Festival’, also 3 years in a row (2011, 2012 and 2013).

1The Rio Carnival
If you want 4 unforgettable days, then Rio de Janeiro is your destination! More than 2 million people, dancing, costumes, floats, colors, parades, it must be the popular Carnival.
Also, the Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro features more than 200 samba schools that holds elaborate competitions.
